The beginnings of Normandie can be traced to the Roaring Twenties when shipping companies began looking to replace veterans such as the RMS Mauretania which had first sailed in 1907.[7] Those earlier ships had been designed around the huge numbers of steerage-class immigrants from Europe to the United States. When the U.S. closed the door on most immigration in the early 1920s, steamship companies ordered vessels built to serve upper-class tourists instead, particularly Americans who traveled to Europe for alcohol-fueled fun during Prohibition.[5] Companies like Cunard and the White Star Line planned to build their own superliners[8] to rival newer ships on the scene; such vessels included the record-breaking Bremen and Europa, both German.[5] The French Line began to plan its own superliner.[7]

How do we go from nothing to something? As a design student we learn to first start with a design concept. The design concept for Ralph Laurens fall/winter 2011/2012 collection could be Modern ChinoiserieGlamour. Like an old movie set in the 1940 with an Art Deco twist. Lets say dinner and dancing aboard the SS Normandie, who really cares about the story line, we just care about how fabulous our favorite movie star looks. What is Chinoiserie? Well for those who really care, it’s a style that first developed in the mid to late 17th century. Yes it’s not new! Many great things aren’t. What is Art Deco? Well it’s a style that developed in Paris in the 1920’s. Once again not new! At a time when everything seems so casual and un-glamours, how could one imagine such a vision. Where would we go, who would we be and the big question is what will the modern guy be waring to accompany a woman dressed like this? Fashion could be an opportunity to step outside ourselves and step into our movie of opportunity where we could be the STAR! Joseph Osborne Co-founder Academy of Inspiration
Mr. MICHAEL STIPE is the lead singer of R.E.M. A band recognized by their sound and message. The lead voice of that sound is Mr. Michael Stipe. Are we in what were in for the right reasons or do we secretly hate what we are doing and feel trapped by the income or the income potential? Mr. Stipe is clearly an individual that seems to have a passion for music and has earned the right to be an artist on his own terms. If we pay close attention there is no shortage of frustrated people making a lot of money, however I would not put Mr. Stipe in that category. Golden handcuffs could be defined as anyone who is making a lot of money and hating what they are doing to make their money. Evaluating everything relative to our passion as it relates to our motivation/inspiration and simple desire to do the extra is exemplified by the song Night Swimming. As we move forward it’s the extra that provides us all with the opportunity to be our personal best. We find that if we have to make ourselves do something then this could be a sign that we are not on the right track. What are we having to make ourselves do and who is trying to motivate us to do it? The most important agenda is the agenda that speaks to our heart and only we can know what that is at any given time and this could change at any given time. One might say this is the creative mind. It simply takes courage to believe and have faith the size of a mustard seed to move forward with who we are and to be an example to others to do the same. Thank you Mr. Stipe for being an example of consistency and Inspiration.

We are not suggesting to anyone to do anything different, however we are evaluating everything relative to our passion as it relates to our motivation and simple desire to do the extra. What about qualify of life and is that important? As we move forward it’s doing the extra and being sensitive to the simple concept of quality of life that provides us all with the opportunity to be our personal best. We find that if we have to make ourselves do something then this could be a sign that we are not on the right track. What are we having to make ourselves do and who is trying to motivate us to do it? How do we go from nothing to something? As a design student we learn to first start with a design concept. The design concept for this Metro Expositions event in Stockton, California this weekend is ReturnTo Paradise Orange. When we think of Return To Paradise Orange we think of warm climates, vacations, vitamin C, the color orange, the Palace Of Versailles Orangerie, the fruit of winter, Palm Springs California, Honolulu Hawaii and the imagery can go on and on. Most of us would like to take a vacation to a warm climate in the middle of winter however with budget concerns most of us may not have that opportunity. However with a little paint and imagination we could turn our home into a spa vacation feeling environment giving us the opportunity to come home to a vacation every day or night. We were inspired by the Modern Mid - Century Design movement, a period from about 1950 to 1970, which is currently trending throughout the world. We chose modern antiques, abstract art, minimal drapery treatment, warm climate foliage, to create a Return To Paradise Orange feeling . Joseph Osborne Co-founder Academy of Inspiration

Is there a link to how we are feeling and how our home is looking? An estimated 33 to 35 million U.S. adults are likely to experience depression at some point during our lifetime. The disease affects men and women of all ages, races, and economic levels. However, women are at a significantly greater risk than men to develop major depression. Studies show that episodes of depression occur twice as frequently in women as in men. Could their be a link between how our home environment looks and how we are feeling? Could there be a relationship between the color of our mood and the color on our walls? I recently began to notice the colors that were popular before the great recession, such as beige, brown, burgundy and a host of other dull colors and realized that we have a great recession color crises. Just like the colors of the great depression, which I think of as dull and depressing like many of the Ash Can School paintings. The Ashcan School, also called the Ash Can School, is defined as a realist artistic movement that came into prominence in the United States during the early twentieth century, best known for works portraying scenes of daily life in New York's poorer neighborhoods.
Robert Henri Salome, 1909, not a typical Ash Can School allegory, however in keeping with mostly dull colors and depressing fatal subject matter. As a design professional, it is not uncommon to run around making everyone's environment look incredible and come home to a environment less than desirable. Well from a design point of view it could be as simple as not respecting every space in your home as a design opportunity. We most often think of design as having to cost a lot of money. There is some truth to this in that to develop skills as a designer, of some merit, one has to invest in training which could cost in time and money or to hire a designer who has been trained which could cost in time and money. Many people will say, “Well my sister, brother, mother, dad, or whoever is a designer and they will do the work for free”. Now for anyone who has ever been involved in any kind of creative work we know that the most difficult person to work with is our family. We love them, however we most often can’t design for them due to their lack of respect for our professional ability. That’s just the way it is! My most recent discovery was in the last few days of how color could transform a nothing space into a place of interest. A nothing closet in now the gift wrap room painted in Benjamin Moore Laguna Blue2059-30 and wow is it awesome.
I just want to be in the closet all day long LOL. Joseph Osborne Co-founder Academy of Inspiration
Jean-Michel Frank (February 28, 1895–1941) was a French interior designer for minimalist interiors decorated with plain-lined but sumptuous furniture made of luxury materials, such as shagreen, mica, and intricate straw marquetry. Jean-Michel Frank was born in Paris, a son of Léon Frank, a banker, and his wife and cousin, the former Nanette Frank. From 1904, he attended the Lycée Janson de Sailly in Paris. From 1920 to 1925 he traveled and visited the world. In Venice he met the cosmopolitan society that gathered around Stravinsky and Diaghilev. Around 1927, Eugenia Errázuriz revealed to him the beauty of 18th Century styles and her own modern, minimalist esthetic, and he became her disciple. He then got in contact with a Parisian decorator called Adolphe Chanaux to do his apartment in the Rue de Verneuil. During the 1930's he worked with students at the Paris Atelier, now known as Parsons Paris School of Art and Design, where he developed the famous Parsons Table. In 1932, with Chanaux, he opened a shop at number 140 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. This was to be the consecration of ten years of collaboration, when he decorated for the Rockefellers and Guerlains. During the winter of 1939-40, he left France for Argentina. In Argentina, Jean-Michel Frank worked with his old friend and business associate Ignacio Pirovano on several important private and commercial projects.[1] Jean-Michel Frank kept his private apartment in Buenos Aires on the top floor of the company of which he was the Artistic Director[2] in Argentina, COMTE SA. This building was located on the corner of Florida Street and Marcelo T. De Alvear Avenue.[3] He also visited many of his clients in Buenos Aires including the Born family[4] whose mansion in the northern suburbs of Buenos Aires remains his single most important project. The entire collection is still intact and in-place in precisely the manner that Jean-Michel Frank conceived it.
In 1941, Frank made a trip to New York. Sadly overcome by depression he committed suicide by throwing himself from the window of a Manhattan apartment building, leaving all his personal possessions in his apartment in Buenos Aires. Joseph Osborne Co-founder Academy of Inspiration
What can we learn form Rihanna, Skylar Grey, and Dr. Dre about persistence and ones ability to overcome adversity? Is success about surviving adversity? Is being an entrepreneur about looking adversity in the face and learning our lessons so we can move to the next level of success? How can we go to the next level if we are not certain what level that is? Do we understand the power of a team? Joseph Osborne Co-founder Academy of Inspiration
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: From Chico California, Aaron Rogers is the star of the world of NFL Super Bowl XLV. With a slow start out of High School in 2002. Rogers garnered little attention from from Division I programs with only one offer, that of a walk-on from Illinois. He declined the invitation and attended Butte Community College in Oroville, about 30 miles (50 km) southeast of Chico. In his freshman season, he threw 28 touchdowns while leading Butte to a 10–1 record, a NorCal Conference championship, and a No. 2 national ranking. While there, Rodgers was discovered by California head coach Jeff Tedford, who was recruiting Butte tight end Garrett Cross. Because he had a 3.6 grade point average and SAT score of 1300 out of high school, Rodgers was eligible to transfer after one year of junior college instead of the typical two.[6]
Chanel punctuates their long standing position of style direction. I think we will be seeing more HOT PANTS this summer. I love the setting for this definitive statement in fashion and style. As I look at this video I am reminded that fashion really can be a show. Joseph Osborne IV
Realizing that if we help someone else be great and dream big we win by default. How many people can we help to own the Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe?
“Tired Of Just Over Broke - JOB - Joy Of Business” Let's "Inspire" 1 million people to not take the opportunity of life for granted - what are we doing with it - who are we becoming - are we "Inspiring" others to believe in themselves - do we believe in ourselves?
Mr. Perry Is an inspiration to everyone. Whether you are an artist looking to find your voice or someone hoping just to find something positive to brighten your day. We all have points in our life when we feel beat up and our dreams for the future seem so far away. Mr Perry is a shining example of how a person can take control of their life, regardless of the past, find something that fills them with passion and create a life that is a positive and uplifting force in the world. To often we take injustices, sometimes real and sometimes imagined, and put them in front of us as road blocks to our dreams. They are the past and only control your future to the extent that you allow. Mr. Perry's life has shown in no uncertain terms that dreams are always within our reach. Believe in yourself, believe in your dreams and know that you have a purpose in life that is far greater than surviving to old age.

In in an interview, Halle Berry is ask about the challenges of being a beautiful black woman in Hollywood and what its like to be in her 40‘s. She speaks about being a woman of color as a much harder fight than being beautiful and getting older. Ms. Berry also said that winning an Academy Award dose not change the image Hollywood has of certain roles not suited for her, due to her skin color or how race traditionally has defined who gets certain roles. This story is important to everyone reading it because it allows us to ask the question, “Who are we asking permission or approval from“. What awesome gifts have we been given that god intends us to share with the world. What opportunities does racism present in our everyday life to make a positive difference in someone’s life? How do we perpetrate the negative or allow ourselves to buy into the “I’m not good enough”, victim role, which has little to do with race and all to do with low value of self. The big question for us all centers around self-esteem, or value of self. How can we take responsibility for how we empower the world to make us less. How can we shift that internal dialogue from disempowering to empowering. I think Ms. Berry is a good role model for this challenge Joseph Osborne

From the time that we first became aware of Mr. Smith he has brought energy and enthusiasm to all of his pursuits. His journey has not been just one of glorified celebrity. Over the course of his career he has revealed a depth of character and commitment not only to his craft but also to living a life of significance. He is determined to leave the world better as a result of his endeavors. His humility and belief that we all have something special within is inspiring. He follows that with the encouragement that it is not necessarily talent that makes the greatest contribution but rather the determination and commitment to a purpose. What a great attitude to have, that whatever we think, say or dream it's as good as done because we will make it happen. Let's take a cue from him and commit ourselves to leading lives that make the world a better place.
