How do we go from nothing to something? As a design student we learn to first start with a design concept. The design concept for this Metro Expositions event in Stockton, California this weekend is Return To Paradise Orange. When we think of Return To Paradise Orange we think of warm climates, vacations, vitamin C, the color orange, the Palace Of Versailles Orangerie, the fruit of winter, Palm Springs California, Honolulu Hawaii and the imagery can go on and on. Most of us would like to take a vacation to a warm climate in the middle of winter however with budget concerns most of us may not have that opportunity. However with a little paint and imagination we could turn our home into a spa vacation feeling environment giving us the opportunity to come home to a vacation every day or night. We were inspired by the Modern Mid - Century Design movement, a period from about 1950 to 1970, which is currently trending throughout the world. We chose modern antiques, abstract art, minimal drapery treatment, warm climate foliage, to create a Return To Paradise Orange feeling .
